Dramatic Productions Making a Dramatic Difference for Children Diagnosed With Brain Cancer

Dramatic Productions during October presented audiences with their truly spectacular, poignant and truly moving show of West Side Story.

“From the first notes to the final breath, West Side Story is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time. Arthur Laurents’ book remains as powerful, poignant, and timely as ever. The score by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim is widely regarded as one of the best written. The world’s greatest love story takes to the streets in this landmark Broadway musical that is one of the theatre’s finest accomplishments.

Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City as two young, idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the “American” Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching, and relevant musical dramas of our time.”

Those who attended the show were absolutely blown away by the quality, powerful and talented performers, the production, the musical score and the carefully constructed props. Many teary eyes as the performances ended regularly to a standing ovation which was so highly deserved.

As part of each of Dramatic Productions Shows they support local Charities and Dainere’s Rainbow was so extremely honoured, humbled and grateful to have been selection as one to receive ten percent of ticket sales from our allocated performance, an amazing total of $602.00 was raised and has gone directly to the childhood brain cancer research projects and programs set up in memory of and as a legacy Dainere to support children in Canberra and around Australia diagnosed with this number one disease killer of children.

With our heartfelt gratitude to Richard and the Team from Dramatic Productions for all they do to make a difference for others as well as bringing the opportunity to experience the joy of Theatre to the Canberra Community.  Keep watching for their next big show announcement for 2024.
