2023 Andante Andante ABBA Choir Christmas Fundraiser

On Sunday 3 December, a special musical event was held in the beautiful St Columba’s Uniting Church in Braddon by the Andante Andante (Abba) choir. This annual event raises much needed funds for Dainere’s Rainbow and the Choir considers this event the most special in their calendar of performances. The Choir has a long association with Dainere’s Rainbow and long may this continue!

Along with the popular and groovy Abba songs, the Choir also sang Christmas carols in the spirit of the season, along with very enthusiastic audience participation! And as always, the singing of Silent Night was very special, and brought a tear to many eyes. The Choir is truly fortunate to have the amazingly talented Katie, the choir Musical Director and musical accompanist Katrina on piano and bass guitar, and Jessie who accompanied the choir with special parts on trumpet and recorder and Nick who played bass guitar and the bass recorder.

The evening was topped off by a raffle prize event that had so many generous giveaways, and a good supper with lots of homemade goodies provided by so many choir members! We are very glad that this evening raised $1130 and feel very humbled to think that every dollar is donated to the tireless work of Dr Ziegler and his research team and that we are contributing in some way towards the dedication and untiring efforts of Team Dainere’s Rainbow! – Chitra Andante Andante ABBA Choir

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land where we meet and work, the Ngunnawal people, and the many other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples from across Australia who have now made Canberra their home. We celebrate and respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of the ACT and region.
