Brain Cancer is DEADLY….. it kills more children in Australia than any other disease.

“Many of you would have heard of City2Surf, the world’s largest fun run which is held every year in Sydney. Ever since 2013 I have taken on the challenge of running in this event, tackling the gruelling infamous heartbreak hill, pounding the roads from Hyde Park all the way to the picturesque Bondi Beach for 14km.

The past two years have seen such uncertain and tumultuous times, City2Surf has been run virtually. But this year it is back on in Sydney on 14th August. Raising awareness and funds for paediatric brain cancer has been acutely and catastrophically impacted over this time, and it is only through myself, my family and Community support, that crucial research and improved treatments to give children a chance of survival can actually occur.

Jarrett AnthoneyCity2Surf is such an important and emotional one for me, as it was Dainere and I who, back in 2013 decided I would run my first City2Surf to assist Dainere in her prolific, inspiring, and selfless awareness and fundraising for paediatric brain cancer. She so desperately wanted to be there to cheer me across the line and give me a huge hug (she was my number one running supporter); but tragically and cruelly her young life was stolen, and she did not have this chance.

I run each year now to elevate greater awareness, raise vital funds and to honour my beloved little sister and our shared love of running and passion to bring hope to every child diagnosed with paediatric brain cancer.

To run this 14km event can be extremely challenging at times, but believe me, it is nothing compared to what children diagnosed with brain cancer endure.

I would be immensely and humbly grateful if you are able to support my run and help me to honour and continue Dainere’s legacy and her inspiring and extraordinary work to make a difference and bring hope for other children by sharing posts and making a tax deductible donation, even $2 means everything.”  ~Jarrett Anthoney~

100% of donations Jarrett receives go to programs and projects chosen and supported by Dainere’s Rainbow in memory of and as a legacy to Dainere.

”We need your help!

As most of you are aware, I am the Ambassador for Dainere’s Rainbow Brain Tumour Research Fund.  As in previous years, myself and Nicole my incredible are taking the challenge and running City2Surf this year and raising money for Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation as part of Dainere’s Rainbow

Mark And Nicole ScarboroughDue to the ongoing pandemic, Dainere’s Rainbow’s largest fundraiser, the annual gala dinner along with many other fundraising opportunities have been cancelled for the last several years including this year. This means our financial support for vital research has been heavily reduced. We have missed out on raising around $150,000 for paediatric brain tumour research. Nicole my incredible wife and I are running City2Surf this year and raising money for Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation as part of Dainere’s Rainbow.

We know we won’t come close to making up the missing huge gap of $150,000 but we also know every little bit makes a difference in this fight.  Our personal goal is to each raise at least $1000.00.

Help us continue raising money and continue to support research at Sydney Children’s Hospital into paediatric brain cancer. Every donation goes a long way.  No donation is too small, If all you can donate is $2 even that will make a difference and is as appreciated as any other donation. Be part of the mission to bring hope, create change and save lives by donating today.

The Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation is endorsed as a deductible gift recipient by the Australian Taxation Office. All Donations of $2 and over are tax deductible.”
